Healing and growth is possible

Working together in therapy, I can help you:

  • Re-learn how to listen to the signals of your body to discern your desires, needs, and boundaries

  • Name, accept, and be curious about your feelings

  • Understand the ways that you learned to cope with intense emotions and develop new coping strategies that enable you to process stress more effectively

  • Heal past trauma that is stored in the body and shift narratives of shame and isolation to experience greater connection in relationships with others

  • Understand your relational patterns and learn to shift those patterns and develop relationships with greater vulnerability, trust, safety, and authenticity

  • Prioritize rest and experience a sense of groundedness

  • Trust yourself during times of transition and make decisions that align with your values and goals

  • Understand the ways that social and political systems impact your experiences, emotions, relationships, and choices

  • Engage in activities that feel purpose-driven, fulfilling, and pleasurable

  • Gain a renewed sense of trust in your inherent self-worth, regardless of your productivity, past mistakes, or the ways you have been treated by others

The assumptions I bring to therapy

  • Our bodies hold meaningful information about our needs, desires, internalized beliefs, and past experiences.

  • When we make space for painful feelings, they naturally soften and become less intense.

  • We are all worthy of love and belonging.

  • Therapy is about more than the alleviation of negative “symptoms.” Therapy should also be about cultivating greater access to joy, purpose, connection, and pleasure.

  • The personal is political. We all exist within societal systems that have significant impacts on our lives. It is a professional ethic of mine not to pathologize individuals for their responses to systemic oppression. I practice liberation psychology to support queer, trans, disabled, BIPOC, and neurodivergent clients and trauma survivors.

  • Therapy is a process. It is important to balance working toward shared goals in therapy while also staying open to what evolves.

  • I believe we all have a natural ability to heal and grow. I experience my job in therapy as aligning with the fundamental part of you that wants to heal, even if circumstances have made it hard to have hope.

  • Allowing ourselves to be seen in relationships with others is healing.
