Fees and Insurance

I believe that mental health is health care and therefore should be accessible to everyone.
Personally and professionally, I am committed to advocating for public policy changes that ensure greater access to quality health care, including mental health care, as a basic right.

I currently accept Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance plans.

If your insurance plan has out of network benefits, I am happy to provide you with the information
you need to submit a claim for reimbursement.

My rate is $150 for a 55 minute session.

If finances are a barrier toward treatment, I am open to discussing a sliding scale fee.

Notice to clients and prospective clients:
Under the law, health care providers need to give clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected costs of psychotherapy services. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
Frequently Asked Questions
01/ How do I know if I have Out of Network insurance benefits?

Call your insurance company or look at your summary of benefits online to find out what kind of plan you have. PPO plans include out of network benefits; HMO plans do not.

Visit this link for a step-by-step guide on what to ask to learn more about your benefits.
02/ Can you prescribe medication?

No, social workers do not prescribe medication. I am happy to work with you to contact your medical provider for a medication consultation or to find an appropriate referral to a psychiatric medication provider. I have experience collaborating with medication providers in conjunction with therapy.
03/ How do I find a good therapist?

It's not always easy to find a therapist who feels like a good fit. I suggest giving a therapist two sessions. If you don't feel like you have a connection with your therapist after two sessions, consider finding a new therapist. You should feel seen, understood, and supported by your therapist, even in the first few sessions.

04/ Is teletherapy effective?

Research suggests that teletherapy can be as effective as in-person therapy. There are also some unique benefits of teletherapy, including increased accessibility of therapy due to decreased geographical restraints, no commute, and increased scheduling options.
